GANDOLFO Sicilian Oregano Rametti
GANDOLFO Sicilian Oregano Rametti
Oregano grows in open fields and high mountains (1,000 m above sea level), in the middle of the landscape of the Parco delle Madonie. The height is particularly important to ensure the high quality as the origin of the name shows.
Oregano is derived from "oros" (= mountain) and "ganao" (I delight); The most widely accepted interpretations lead to the origin of the name: "joy of the mountains" [1] or to "beauty, brightness, jewelry, joy of the mountains" [2] i.e. to the good growth in the mountains and the high mountains blessed by the sun .
Referring to the ultimate meaning of our Oregano, natural jewel of the Madonie Mountains, it finds the natural habitat on these mountains to best develop its unmistakable aroma, and therefore the decisive taste with all its characteristics.
